The Secret to Happiness

Purpose

Most people focus on achieving goals or success, thinking that if they only work harder, they will achieve more success and then they’ll be happy. Research from Positive Psychology shows that the opposite is true – when we learn how to be happy in the present, success is easier come by. This talk teaches the importance of happiness (even for success!) and equips the participant with simple but effective tools to increase their happiness in life and in work, as well as some Stress Management techniques.

Content

Based on research from Positive Psychology, this talk aims to broaden the understanding of success by switching the focus to being in a positive state. Within one hour you will gain a different understanding of happiness and success, aswell as simple tools to increase your own happiness and release stress, on a daily basis.

About the Facilitator:

Niamh Hannan

Niamh is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland, with a special interest in Positive Psychology and Mindfulness. She has spoken at a variety of events, such as the Mental Health & Wellbeing Summit (Aviva); Zeminar (RDS), the Student Leaders Congress (3Arena) and the Network Ireland Awards Conference. Niamh has facilitated hundreds of workshops, talks and trainings for companies and organizations, including UL, UCD, AIB, Allianz, RCPI, Irish Stock Exchange, Accenture, law firms, schools, charities. She has 20 years experience working 1to1, and runs her own business, Mindworks.ie. She is also Chairperson on the Board of Directors for TeenLine Ireland (voluntary position).
