Workshops
Niamh combines the latest techniques from Psychology (including Positive Psychology), Neuroscience and other sciences to produce our material. All our talks & workshops are practical, fun and interactive – you will leave with new skills which can be applied immediately in various situations at work and at home.
All of our material is drawn from research that shows the best way of developing people is to get them to use their minds more effectively. Something most people know nothing about. What separates us from the pack is our approach. We focus on drawing out the potential of our audience rather than just lecturing to them.
Here are some of my recent workshop outlines
A Practical Introduction to EmC Emotional Connection Process: a Pathway for Conflict Resolution, Wellbeing and Emotional Intelligence
Relationship distress remains a significant issue in organisations of all sizes; impacting employee engagement, workplace conflict and turnover intentions, as well as wellbeing and stress levels. A promising approach to helping teams both resolve workplace relationship distress and nurture effective interpersonal functioning is the Emotional Connection Process (EmC), a manualised, empirically supported approach that is strongly focused on repairing attachment bonds.
In this workshop, I will introduce the EmC approach, the science behind it, and share tools and resources so that participants can begin to apply their learnings. There will be opportunity for interaction in small groups, as well as a variety of resources, something to suit everyone.
Understanding Working Styles to Better Manage Stress
We frequently have to deal with challenging circumstances at work, whether dealing with complex cases or responding to someone who is stressed or angry. When we’re stressed or under pressure, our sense of humour goes downhill and we can be less easy to be around. This interactive workshop aims to grow awareness of what people are like under pressure by identifying Working Styles (based on the Transactional Analysis model by Eric Berne), which describes the way we typically or habitually do things.
You will learn about the 5 styles (including People Pleaser, Be Perfect, etc), their advantages; and also the disadvantages which you’re more likely to get caught up in when under stress. You will walk away knowing your own styles and also recognising them in others, with tips to help you avoid some of the disadvantages of each style and adapt to other people’s styles. In understanding how different people operate in pressurised circumstances, we can learn how best to respond to them.
This workshop is designed to build self-awareness in a fun interactive way, so that you can be more self-accepting whilst also gaining an understanding of how other people operate, so that you find it easier to manage stress overall.
Emotional Mastery – Managing Emotions in the Workplace
The aim of this workshop is to create a safe space for leaders to learn about emotions in the workplace and how to manage difficult emotions more effectively, so that you can lead yourself and your team through challenging situations calmly, and feel more connected as a result.
Leadership Wellbeing & Self-Management
This workshop aims to create a safe space for people to meet in person and grow their awareness around wellbeing and their ability to self-manage in stressful situations. Participants will be facilitated to reflect on their own wellbeing and self-care; as well as learn to identify their working styles and where they are likely to cause themselves stress as well as build awareness of their impact on other people. There will be opportunity for interaction in small groups, as well as a variety of resources, something to suit everyone.
